The Hermès 8-Day Compendium clock, of charming and irresisiteble design, is believed to be the brainchild of Paul Dupré-Lafon (1900-1971). After graduating as an architect and decorator (the legacy of his studies shine through his designs), he became a proponent of craftsmanship. He embarked upon a successful and long-lasting partnership with Hermès in 1929, creating a number of inspired designs, filling the gap between the Art Deco and the modernist movements.
