Jaeger-LeCoultre Ados Travel Clock, Cartier-signed

This Cartier-signed clock features stylish Art Deco numerals and hands filled with once luminous material, and the clock is nestled within a grey-green leather case with a crocodile skin pattern. A charming product of its time, the clock has aged gracefully over the years, having developed a slight patina across the dial. The case can be swivelled open to reveal the clock face, and also doubles up as a stand for the piece.

The dial is double-signed, with both LeCoultre and Cartier signatures, a testament to the symbiotic relationship between manufacture and retailer at the time. Given the especially small size of the clock, it is possible that these clocks were powered by a variant of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso movement, given the manufacture's status as one of the largest makers and suppliers in the period, and the need for a more delicately sized movement.

Condition

This Cartier-signed LeCoultre travel clock remains in very good condition overall. The patina is throughout consistent with age, particularly on the dial and hands, both of which retain the original lumes. The case shows minor scratches from wear. The original leather case has been preserved in a remarkable condition, with the leather showing a beautiful, vintage feel of aged leather.

This Cartier-signed clock has been throughly checked. It has been found to be in working order and it comes with a lifetime guarantee for authenticity from A Collected Man. Though it is keeping time and all the functions work properly, since the clock has not been serviced, it is offered without a servicing warranty.
